Earth Day Everyday Free Recycle Event When: Sat, Apr 28, 2018 9AM-2PM Where: Gresham City Hall Parking Lot 1333 NW Eastman Pky. Get Map!

The City will hold its annual recycling event in celebration of Earth Day. This event is free to Gresham and Wood Village residents (businesses may only participate in recycling fluorescents).

Items that can be recycled or donated

Volunteer

We are also looking for volunteers for this year's event. Tasks may include directing traffic, handing out flyers, unloading materials from automobiles and sorting materials. Sign up to volunteer.

Hazardous waste collection

A separate hazardous waste collection event will be hosted by Metro:

Join Friends of Nadaka to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park.

REGISTER HERE!

We will be removing invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10 acre forested portion of the park. Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided.

Dress to work in natural areas: long pants, brimmed hat, and closed-toe sturdy shoes.

Please bring a water bottle and a friend!

If you have ever thought about volunteering at the Zimmerman House or joining ECHO (East County Historical Organization) -- now's your chance to learn more! We are holding two "open house" events: on Thursday, April 12th from 4pm - 7pm and Saturday, April 14th from 9am-noon. The Zimmerman House is at 17111 NE Sandy Blvd in Gresham. Stop by and join us for a cup of coffee and cookies.

ECHO was formed in 1987 and is home to both the Zimmerman House and Heslin House museums. We are an all-volunteer organization at this time, and are looking for new members and volunteers to support the preservation work at both sites, do basic office work, help with marketing, work in the gardens, etc.

The historic Zimmerman House was built in 1874 and was home to three generations of the Zimmerman Family. Their furnishings and personal articles remain in this two-story Victorian home, with nine rooms open to the public. We are hoping to be open to the public every Saturday again this summer, and are recruiting new volunteers to be on-site.

See the Night Sky When: Fri, Mar 09, 2018 6PM-8:15PM Where: Mt. Hood Community College Planetarium 26000 SE Stark St. Get Map!

There are two shows at this evening's show, with start times at at 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm.

This show will be presented in the Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Planetarium Sky Theater, located beneath the library on the Gresham campus, 26000 SE Stark St. All shows are presented under a realistic representation of the night sky, featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.

The Sky Theater is wheelchair accessible.

Admission fees:

• General public $5
• MHCC students $2 with valid ID
• Children 17 and under $2
