How many people bike, walk, and skateboard on Gresham streets & trails?
Volunteers Needed to Count Users, Sept 8-13
Regional Streets and Trails User Count and Survey
Gresham is participating in a nationwide effort to document the number of people biking, walking, skateboarding, and rollerblading on trails and local streets. As part of that effort, City staff is asking for volunteers to help conduct counts and surveys.
To volunteer contact Jonathan David at 503-618-2321 or Jonathan.David@GreshamOregon.gov . Leave your name, phone number and e-mail address, a preferred day, and if desired, the location where you would like to volunteer.
Count Locations
The City has identified 18 locations where counts will be taken:
1. Marine Drive at I-85 2. 181st Avenue at Halsey Street 3. Halsey Street at 201st Avenue 4. Gresham-Fairview Trail at Burnside Road 5. 181st Avenue at Division Street 6. 181st Avenue at Powell Boulevard 7. pringwater Trail at Pleasant View Drive 8. Burnside Avenue at 223rd Avenue (Eastman Parkway) 9. Powell Boulevard at 23rd Ave (Eastman Parkway)

Highlights include: election of officers, Nadaka Nature Park improvements, and special guest speakers: John McClellan of Owens Corning discussing the new Gresham Foam Insulation Facility opening July 2009; Jonathan David, Gresham Transportation Dept talking about the NE Halsey St, & 181st Ave improvements, and; Jerry Gerspach, Noise Abatement Specialist, Port of Portland discussing the PDX airport runway construction and the increased noise over the Wilkes East neighborhood.

Wilkes East Neighborhood borders are roughly NE Sandy Blvd to the north, NE 181st Ave to the east, NE Glisan St to the south, and NE 162nd Ave to the west. Get map!.
Watch for these red & white Meeting Signs the week before our meeting. The signs were purchased with assistance of the City of Gresham Neighborhood Grant Program, and with volunteer hours to set them out and retrieve them. Signs Now NW also made a generous contribution to this project.

How to provide testimony
To testify during a Transportation Subcommittee meeting, provide testimony in writing 24 hour before the meeting to Jay.Higgins@GreshamOregon.gov to allow the testimony to be forwarded to the Transportation Subcommittee.
If you are unable to provide written comments in advance, or are unable to access the meeting via Zoom, notify Jay Higgins 24 hours before the meeting so we can provide alternate arrangements.

The Transportation Subcommittee advises City Council on the ongoing development of a transportation network to improve the safety and livability of Gresham. The committee discusses transportation and traffic issues, federal, state and local policies and standards, plans and capital programs, and guides Council in transportation planning matters.

To protect public health, safety and welfare during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Transportation Subcommittee will meet remotely at 6:00 pm on May 6 via Zoom.
How to participate
Zoom login information will be available in the meeting agenda on the Transportation Subcommittee page one week before the meeting.
If you want to speak during the meeting, provide written comments, are unable to access the meeting remotely, or are otherwise unable to participate in the meeting, please notify us 24 hours in advance of the meeting for instructions and assistance. This will allow us time to provide alternate arrangements if needed.
