Changes include:

- New definitions.
- Clarify where uses are permitted.
- Establish safety rules, including for lighting, site ingress and egress, pedestrian hazards, fire separation and rules for drive-throughs.
- Set compatibility rules, including for setbacks, increased distance from residential uses, adequate parking and bathrooms for food service uses.
- Provide appearance rules, including for signage; screening; maintenance; quality of shelter for customers; and not allowing food carts in motorized vehicles if they are to remain on a site for more than four hours.
All meeting locations are ADA accessible.
Invest in Gresham, Attend Town Hall #2 on the Proposed Utility Levy, Butler Creek Elementary: Oct 03, 2013 6:30PM
Public Invited Town Hall Meeting
|
When: Thu Oct 03, 2013 6:30-7:30PM |
The City is hosting a series of town hall meetings this fall to continue its Invest in Gresham discussion with the community about funding critical police and fire services, including the possibility of a voter-approved levy in May 2014.
Because of Oregon’s statewide property tax restrictions and Gresham’s low $3.61 permanent property tax rate, the City is at a defining moment in its ability to provide the level of essential police and fire services this rapidly growing, urban city needs.
Last fall the Gresham City Council established a temporary fee as an interim solution to maintain police, fire and park service levels through June 2014. With expiration of that $7.50-per month fee less than a year away, the process of a potential levy to stabilize funding for public safety long term starts now.

Source: Gresham Outlook, August 2, 2013 The state has awarded a $523,000 grant to fund improvements at Nadaka Nature Park in Gresham’s Wilkes East neighborhood. "It is unbelievable," said Lee Dayfieid, who cried, laughed and screamed when she heard the news last week that the park, through its partnership with the city of Gresham, won the $523,480 grant from the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. |
The money means that the little-known and once-neglected forested area in the middle of the city can become a full-blown neighborhood park complete with community gardens, a nature-based play area, picnic shelter and improved walking trail.
