Join us on Feb. 22 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM in the Oregon Trail Conference Room at City Hall to discuss existing tree regulations and Code complaint issues and how those issues should be addressed in the Urban Forestry Management Plan. Your feedback will help clarify the types of issues property owners experience with the current tree Code and what future steps should be taken to address tree Code complaints.

Be prepared to get a little dirty and to have fun by supporting and volunteering with Friends of Nadaka and Wilkes East Neighborhood Association in their efforts to restore this natural area by removing invasive underbrush and ivy.

Rain or Shine! Come dressed for weather and help improve Nadaka Nature Park. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can.

Coffee, juice, water & refreshments provided by Wilkes East Neighborhood.

No pre-registration required. Volunteers younger than 18 will need a signed waiver (available at the event).

The second community forum on the Development Code Improvement Project is coming up next week. This is an opportunity to examine and comment on the work to create a Land Use Classification system and to integrate Community Service Uses into this system.

The Community Forum will be on January 18, 6:30-8:30 PM, in the Oregon Trail Room of Gresham City Hall, 1333 NW Eastman Parkway. The meeting will begin with a presentation and will follow-up with discussion groups. The materials that will be used at the forum may be found on the project webpage. Copies will be provided at the meeting.

A delightful 1874 Victorian farmhouse

Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.

The Coalition of Gresham Neighborhood Associations was formed to provide structure and support for the leadership of Gresham's neighborhood associations, enabling more effective cooperation among neighborhood associations in order to achieve desired outcomes. Goals of the Coalition include providing a public forum for the review and evaluation of issues and problems, providing education and information on specific areas such as land use, and providing a unified voice for the neighborhood associations.

Event Details A community forum to discuss approaches to addressing residential compatibility issues is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec 9th, at the City Hall Conference Center. Based on previous input the City of Gresham Planning staff has developed approaches to addressing the following issues:

Compatible? Share your opinion.

• Height and bulk of new homes
• Flag lots (homes built behind other homes)
• Buffering and screening between developments
• Transitions (such as between single-family homes and more intense uses such as commercial uses, apartments or condominiums)
• Fencing along streets at the edge of subdivisions
• How subdivisions with lots less than 6,000 square feet are reviewed
• Miscellaneous Code issues

Your ideas and comments about these approaches are needed and welcome.
