Get to know Nadaka Nature Park! This 10-acre forest in northwest Gresham was saved from development for many decades because it served as a day camp for the Camp Fire Organization. Today Nadaka is a city park that provides an island of native habitat and a place for the community to access and learn about nature. Join us for a fun "Walk and Talk tour" to learn the park’s story, restoration challenges and successes, how to identify common native plants and spot spring time invaders, and the top 10 scary weeds to watch out for.

This event is free and suitable for all ages.

Help A Little, or Help A Lot
The annual No Ivy Day event is coming to Gresham. Volunteers will be pulling invasive ivy and other weeds at sites across Portland and neighboring cities. Get to know Nadaka Nature Park and help protect the diversity and beauty of this unique natural area. This 10-acre forest in northwest Gresham was saved from development because it served as a day camp for the Camp Fire organization for many decades. Today Nadaka is a city park that provides an island of native habitat and a place for the community to access and learn about nature.

Come enjoy this neighborhood treasure and help restore the forest understory. We will provide gloves, tools, training, and refreshments.

After the years of dreaming, grant writing, meeting, planning, permitting, and designing --- construction will soon be underway!

Help us to turn the dirt and celebrate building the park and garden including nature play space, paths, benches, meadow, and picnic shelter. Light refreshments will be served.

Diseased Tree Removal
The City of Gresham will be removing 5 to 6 large Douglas Firs with laminated root rot on these two days so the park will be closed to the public. The downed trees will be used in the nature based play area planned for the two acres on the South.

We will also be removing weeds from the future community garden. Be prepared to get a little dirty and to have fun by supporting and volunteering with Friends of Nadaka and Wilkes East Neighborhood Association. Refreshments will be provided for volunteers.

Father's Day Volunteer Event When: Sat Jun 15, 2013 9AM-1PM Where: Nadaka Nature Park 175th & NE Pacific St Gresham, OR Get Map!

Bring Your Dad!
In honor of Father’s Day why not spend the morning at Nadaka Park on Saturday, June 15th helping cleanup the park by removing invasives, clearing weeds from the future community garden and begin moving the boulders out along NE Glisan.

The Army Reservists will be there to do the boulder moving but there will be a lot to do in the park. Cleanup activities will begin at 9AM and end around 1PM.

Come dressed for the weather and we will have work gloves, shovels, and other equipment needed for the cleanup. Refreshments will be provided for volunteers. Bring your Dad or any other special person.
