The Gresham Art Committee is a volunteer committee that oversees the installment of visual arts exhibits in the City of Gresham Visual Arts Gallery and assists with the acquisition of art throughout City facilities. The committee may also advise the City in arts and culture-related activities.

Improving Our Watershed

Well explore the critical role rain gardens can play in urban stream restoration, and how they add beautiful landscaping to your yard at the same time.
- You will learn how to assess your site to determine the best location and size, calculate impervious surfaces, determine soil suitability, choose appropriate plants, and how to maintain your new rain garden.
- You will also receive a comprehensive manual that guides you through all the steps in constructing your rain garden.
- Where possible, workshop includes a short tour of a nearby rain garden.

The City of Gresham Natural Resources Program and Johnson Creek Watershed Council (JCWC) invite you to join us for our largest watershed restoration event of the year, Watershed Wide! Help us plants hundreds of native trees and shrubs to support a healthy habitat. Choose one of three sites in Gresham to volunteer at:
- Chastain Creek - Meet near 1511 SW 10th Ct
- Jenne Creek Headwaters - Meet right off of SW Border Way, next to Jenne Butte Park
- Springwater Woods - Park at DES Operations Center at 2123 SE Hogan to access the Springwater Trail, follow signs from the trail to our meeting spot
This is a family-friendly event and all experience levels are welcomed! We will provide tools, snacks, and a fun time! Please come dressed for the weather, rain or shine. We recommend being prepared with long pants, warm layers, rain gear, and sturdy boots.
Plus, join us for a free pizza party afterwards!

The Gresham Historical Society Museum welcomes you to our first lecture of the 2017 history lecture series. Our collections manager, Silvie Andrews will be presenting on the topic of recreation and leisure in Gresham. This lecture is a companion to our newest exhibit of the same name. Come and find out more about the several items from our collection used in the exhibit and the research behind this topic.
There will be light refreshments and admission is free.

Tuesday shows are at 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
New Friday shows include a matinee at 1 p.m. and an evening show at 6 p.m.
Admission is only $5.
MHCC students (with valid ID) and children 17 and under are $2.
All shows are presented under a realistic representation of the night sky, featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.
The Sky Theater is wheelchair accessible.

Growing veggies on a budget
Learn low-cost ways to build healthy soil, plan your growing space, choose your crops, care for your growing garden, and harvest your bounty.
Seed to Supper is a free five-week beginning gardening course that gives adult gardeners the tools they need to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget.
- When: Thursdays, Feb. 16 through March 16, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
- Where: St. Aidans Episcopal Church, 17405 NE Glisan Street. Classes are taught indoors with possible visits to the Nadaka Community Garden.
- Who: Open to adult participants interested in learning how to garden on a budget.
Details: Please plan to attend all five classes.
Participants will receive a free gardening book, seeds and other goodies as available.
