Native Planting at Butler Creek Greenway

When: Saturday, March 22, 2008 9:00AM - 1:00PM
Where: Along SW 27th Drive, between SW 29th Drive and SW 30th Drive Click here for a map!
(Let us know if you can only make part of the project.)

We're still looking for volunteers to help at a native planting this Saturday, and the weather looks like it shaping up to be pretty nice! Come join us at Bulter Creek Greenway to say goodbye to Winter and "Hello!" to the planting season by removing English Ivy and planting 500 trees and shrubs . These restoration efforts will encourage native growth within Gresham's natural areas and in return, improve the creek's water quality, increase biodiversity and enhance local habitat.

Refreshments and snacks will be provided!

Yamhill Community Garden Open House Event

Join us to celebrate the beginning of the spring growing season at our community gardens. Drop by anytime to learn about community gardens in Gresham, how to obtain a raised bed for the year to grow your own fruits, vegetables, and flowers. We will also have kid's activities and refreshments! (English/Spanish information will be provided.)

Yamhill Community Garden Workshop: Gardening 101

When: Wednesday April 30th, 2008 1:00PM - 4:00PM

Not sure how to start your garden? Come to our workshop for garden beginners, which will cover basic planting techniques, what to plant, what tools to use, and yearly maintenance of your garden. (English/Spanish presentation.)

Yamhill Community Garden Workshop: Composting

When: Wednesday May 28th, 2008 1:00PM - 4:00PM
Where: Yamhill Community Garden

What is the importance of compost and how do you make it? This informational workshop will cover the benefits of composting for your home or community garden and how do to it. (English/Spanish presentation.) Volunteers are needed to help set up, children's activities, and take down.
