Join us for a guided walking tour of Historic Downtown Gresham. The tour leaves the museum at 11 a.m. and weaves around the Historic Downtown area, covering about a mile and lasting around an hour-and-a-half. There is no charge for the tour, but donations are always welcome and very much appreciated (suggested donation is $5). Free parking is available in the lot behind the museum. Tours leave rain or shine, so if it's drizzly, grab an umbrella and come on down.

Let's Go Walking!
Join us on another great Ten Toe Express walk throughout inner-city Portland sponsored by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. The Ten Toe Express program is a series of guided walks held Thursdays @ 6PM and Saturdays @ 9AM from May 10th through September 28th 2013.
Each easy and informal Ten Toe Express walk explores the area neighborhood, architecture and unique history. Walk takes about 2 hours, cover 2-4 miles and are open to all ages and skill levels. Did we mention it's free!

Mars Up-Close & a Lunar Eclipse
Join us for a tour of the night sky where you'll whiz through universe from the comfort of your seat!
There are three shows this evening, with start times at 6:00PM, 7:15PM and 8:30PM.
The Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC) Planetarium opens the year with more great public shows, a move to a new night and a state-of-the-art digital star projection system.
Each show is presented under a realistic representation of the night sky, featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.
Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each program. Children are welcome to attend.

This is a 4.2-mile round-trip hike that starts at the old Historic Fort Vancouver Visitor Center. The trail winds through Fort Vancouver's Officers Row and downtown Vancouver and connects to the Columbia River waterfront. Historic sites along the way include Fort Vancouver, Pearson Airport, Providence Academy and Esther Short Park. We will stop at a restaurant for lunch at the end of the hike, but bring along water and a snack for the trail.
- Round-trip travel: 41 miles
- Suggested donation per rider: $5
- Difficulty: Easy
- Elevation gain: About 100 feet

Metro naturalist James Davis will show slides, play some easy bird songs and simplify what seems like a confusing variety of birds to many beginners.

Learn how to build your own rain garden! We’ll explore the critical role rain gardens can play in urban stream restoration, and how they add beautiful landscaping to your yard at the same time.
You will learn how to assess your site to determine the best location and size, calculate impervious surfaces, determine soil suitability, choose appropriate plants, and how to maintain your new rain garden. You will also receive a comprehensive manual that guides you through all the steps in constructing your rain garden. Where possible, workshop includes a short tour of a nearby rain garden.
