Repair Cafe
The Rosewood Initiative is a nonprofit aimed at improving life in Rosewood, the neighborhood that straddles Gresham and Portland near the intersection of 162nd and Burnside. The initiative partnered with the city of Gresham, the city of Portland, and Repair PDX, the nonprofit that brought repair café events to Portland for the first time in 2013.
Repair Café events started in the Netherlands in 2010 as a way to help people reduce waste and save money. Gresham’s Department of Environmental Services is supporting the event as a way to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills each year.
