Gresham resident Katherine Rubina Voge, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 11, in Clackamas.

Katherine was born Dec 11, 1929, in Heppner to Thomas and Lucybell O’Brien. She attended boarding school in Pendleton, graduating from St Mary’s Academy in 1947. She then attended beauty school in Walla Walla, Wash., and completed her course work in 1949.

On May 12, 1952, she married Warren Voge in Pendleton. They moved to Portland in 1962 and lived in East County for more than 40 years.

Katherine worked as a beautician. She was a longtime member of the Gateway Elks Lodge and of St Aidan’s Episcopal Church in Portland.

Katherine enjoyed sewing, traveling to the beach and to Reno NV, bowling, jellybeans and spending time with her grandchildren. She had an extensive sheep collection. She enjoyed slot machines, and she belonged to two Bunco groups. She also attended the Pendleton Round-Up for 20 years straight.

Survivors include her husband; daughters, Leslie Voge-Hays of Fairview and Gail Voge of Gresham; son, Gordon Voge of Vancouver, WA; brother, Gordon O’Brien of Heppner; and five grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9am to 11am, followed by a funeral service at noon Wednesday, Oct 15, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 11801 SE Mount Scott Blvd, Portland. Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery.

Katherine was a joy and inspiration, and she will be missed by her Capri Terrace neighbors and friends.
