Free! Drop-in futsal games for boys and girls in grades 3-6, from 11 am to 1 pm Sundays in the Friends of the Children gym. Rain or shine. Supervised play is provided by Active Children Portland volunteers. This activity is sponsored by the City of Gresham. A signed waiver is required to participate.

Middle school and high school youth can attend free basketball practice, skill building and game play on Friday nights at H.B. Lee Middle School, 1121 NE 172nd Ave.

  • Open to boys and girls in grades 6-12
  • Learn new skills, make new friends, play basketball.
  • Adult supervision and mentorship provided by the Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center (POIC).
  • Sponsored by the City of Gresham.

Schedule:

  • 6-8 p.m. for grades 6-8
  • 8-10 p.m. for grades 9-12

Join Friends of Nadaka to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park Saturday, Sept. 24 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will remove invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10-acre forested portion of the park. The event will start with a brief lesson on native and invasive plant species.

Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend.

Activities include: invasive plant removal, litter cleanup, garden weeding/cleanup.

Register to volunteer at this event.

Meet at the picnic structure on the NE Glisan Street side of the park.

There are two locations for parking:

  1. St. Aidans Episcopal Church parking lot next to Nadaka Nature Park, located at 17405 NE Glisan Street in Gresham
  2. Nadaka Nature Parks north entrance is at NE Pacific Street and 176th. You may park in the neighborhood and follow the path through the forest to get to the picnic structure.

Join us on another great Ten Toe Express walk throughout inner-city Portland sponsored by the Portland Bureau of Transportation. The Ten Toe Express program is a series of guided walks held Thursdays @ 6PM and Saturdays @ 9AM from May 7th through September 10th 2016.

Each easy and informal Ten Toe Express walk explores the area neighborhood, architecture and unique history. Walk takes about 2 hours, cover 2-4 miles and are open to all ages and skill levels. Did we mention it's free!
