Wahclella Falls trail recently reopened after the Eagle Creek fire. It is a short hike with two waterfalls, three foot bridges and one set of stairs of around 20 steps. The first part of the trail is flat to the first footbridge. It is under cover of cottonwoods, alders, big leaf maples and Douglas firs. There is small dam and a fish ladder managed by Bonneville Fish Hatchery. Munra Falls is on the side of the first wooden bridge. The trail narrows and climbs up to the highest point of the trail; alongside are steep drops to the right of the trail with views of the creek below. After a couple of switchbacks we come to the second bridge over the creek. From here you start to see enormous boulders on both sides of the creek. The trail climbs up past huge boulders to the third footbridge and a close-up view of Wahclella Falls, which falls into the amphitheater. There you see the power of the 65-foot waterfall. We'll have lunch at Bridgeside Restaurant in Cascade Locks.

Bring water and snacks for the trail and sturdy hiking shoes and poles are recommended. There are
portable toilets at the trail head.
