The Willamette Mission State Park is the National Register of Historic Places. During this 4.6-mile loop hike, we will see the Wheatland Ferry crossing, the nation's largest black cottonwood tree and the "ghost buildings" on the site of the former Willamette Mission, which was destroyed in the great flood of 1861. We will walk through filbert groves, walnut orchards and other beautiful woodlands. Portions of the trail are paved and other parts are bark-covered pathways.

  • Round-trip travel: 112 miles
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Elevation gain: 20 feet
  • Suggested donation per hiker: $11 + park fee share

Wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather and bring an energy snack and water.
The $5 day-use park fee will be shared by the participants. After the hike, we will eat lunch at The Chalet restaurant.
