Join the fun
Bring the whole family to a hidden wetland in Gresham in search of cold, slimy, and fun frogs.
With amphibian scientist Laura Guderyahn from the City of Gresham, learn about a frog’s life cycle and use a net to hunt for amphibians in the water.
Recommended for kids aged 4+ with their parents; pre-registration requested. $5/family suggested donation to host Columbia Slough Watershed Council.

Every year the City holds a free recycling event in April around Earth Day. The recycling event is free to Gresham and Wood Village residents and businesses.
Bring your recyclable items to Gresham City Hall for Earth Day from 9AM to 2PM, or take your items to a recycler year-round. Contact Metro Recycling at 503-234-3000 for location and material information.

Earth Day at Nadaka
Join other volunteers as we clear invasive plants & beautify Nadaka Nature Park, a 10-acre natural area with a dense forest and inviting meadow.
Be prepared to get a little dirty and have fun by supporting and volunteering with SOLVE, Friends of Nadaka and the Wilkes East Neighborhood Association in their efforts to restore this natural area.
Rain or Shine! Come dressed for weather. Bring working gloves & a water bottle if you have them. Volunteer as long as you can.
Coffee, juice, water & refreshments provided by Wilkes East Neighborhood.

A delightful 1874 Victorian farmhouse
Take a step back into history at the Zimmerman House, a Victorian era farmhouse, built in 1874 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This beautiful farmhouse is a perfect reflection of typical Columbia River dairy farm life in the late 1800s. The Zimmerman Heritage Farm is a unique cultural education and recreational resource that is being created for the benefit of the public on a 5.98-acre historic site in Gresham, Oregon.

Encroachment by invasive, weedy species like ivy and blackberry directly threatens the health of Gresham's urban forest and leads to weak trees, increased erosion, poor water quality and low biodiversity.

Join us for an Invasive Species Information Fair attended by representatives from the City of Gresham, Metro, Johnson Creek Watershed Council, East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District and the Audubon Society that will follow a 45-minute presentation that will give property owners the knowledge to identify and remove invasive plant species and native replacement options.

Led by the nonprofit Solar Oregon, the workshops will cover the basic technology, benefits and cost of solar. Imagine Energy will be available to answer questions about installation and products. Umpqua Bank will also be on hand to share information on financing opportunities.

The workshops provide a great opportunity to learn more about solar, whether you’re interested in having it installed at your home or just wanting to learn more about this form of renewable energy.
Solar Gresham is a new program offered through July 31. It offers homeowners solar at up to 80% or more off the cost.

The Southern Sky from Namibia
Join us as Mt Hood Community College Planetarium Director Pat Hanrahan shares stories and celestrial images from last summer's trip to Namibia in southern Africa. Near total darkness provided an opportunity to capture many incredible images from the seldom seen southern night sky.
All shows are presented under a realistic representation of the night sky, featuring the latest galactic, stellar and planetary images.
Visitors are encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program. Children are welcome to attend.

Parking permits are required and may be purchased for $3 at ticket kiosks located by the flagpoles (north parking) and gym (south parking). (Violators will be ticketed)

The Ten Toe Express program is a series of guided walks held Thursdays at 6PM and Saturdays at 9AM from May 10th through September 13th. Download your 2012 Ten Toe Express schedule here.
Each easy and informal Ten Toe Express walk explores the area neighborhood, architecture and unique history. Walk takes about 2 hours, cover 2-4 miles and are open to all ages and skill levels.
