Join us on Main Street in Historic Downtown Gresham for the exciting (and always hilarious) annual Olympic Bed Races! The bed races are a fun event where groups from local businesses and organizations race a decorated "bed" (complete with a theme and on rollers of course) to the finish line. It's a great time that's not to be missed!

An orphan who dreams of someday finding a family to call his own finds his fate taking an unexpected turn when a mysterious stranger named Wilbur Robinson transports him into the future. Based on the book A Day With Wilbur Robinson by William Joyce, Meet the Robinsons tells the story of a boy with a lifelong wish to belong, and shows what happens when he meets an incredible collection of characters who just might have the power to make his wildest fantasies come true.

Pictures in the Park presents a free family movie night series on the Arts Plaza in downtown Gresham. Live music on the plaza begins at 7:00 p.m., and movie showtime is at dusk -- approximately 8:00 p.m.

Bring a blanket to sit on and a picnic, or stop by one of downtown Gresham's many restaurants or cafes to pick up dinner to-go. Please note that pets, alcohol and smoking are not allowed. Blankets or low-back chairs are recommended. The event may be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

A pack of not-so-wild animals experience some serious culture shock when they move from the Big Apple to the Mighty Jungle in this computer-animated comedy. Alex (voice of Ben Stiller) is a lion who enjoys a charmed life as one of the leading attractions at a zoo in New York City's Central Park. While Alex and his pals Marty the Zebra (voice of Chris Rock), Gloria the Hippo (voice of Jada Pinkett Smith), and Melman the Giraffe (voice of David Schwimmer) are happy with their lot in life.

The MHCC Aquatic Center Dive-In movies make a return to the big screen this summer. At sunset, around 7:15 p.m., families and friends are welcome to spend time floating, splashing and swimming in the College’s 50-meter Olympic size pool. Film classics will be played on the electric scoreboard for viewers of all ages.
Prices are $4.50/adults, $3.25/children 18 and younger and seniors. MHCC students, staff and pool members’ admission is free with current ID or punch card. There is no extra charge to see the movie. Don’t forget your flotation toys.

In Kung Fu Panda 2, Po is now living his dream as The Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five. Join Greater Gresham Area Prevention Partnership (ggapp) for their second year of "Cinema Under the Stars!" This year they will be showing a series of free family-friendly movies fun for all ages.

Perseid Meteor Shower 2012: Annual 'Shooting Star' Show Hits The Night Sky This Weekend: 11PM-5AM

The Perseid Meteor Shower 2012 hits its stride this weekend, late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. And what stride it will be: according to NASA, expect up to 100 meteors per hour. As an extra bonus, a waning crescent moon means that moonlight won’t completely overwhelm the meteors as they shoot across the sky. (Tips for best viewing below.)
